Why Don’t Restaurants Have Both Coke And Pepsi?

ByOmar Abdalla 15/04/202113/09/2022

Between all the soda choices that we see and get to choose in a restaurant, there have never been both Coca-Cola and Pepsi in the same restaurant. That is a valid question and in this article, we are going to dig more into that!

I will also go more in-depth to the subject and review other aspects to these questions about Coca-Cola and Pepsi. But first, we need to understand why they arent’ found together in the save beverage menu.

Restaurants don’t serve both Coke and Pepsi because the two companies are competing against each other, as a result, they have made supplier contracts which say that if you only choose one of them then their product will be discounted.

In addition, the taste difference isn’t that large (Yes, It is a matter of taste) and they serve the same style in the soda world, therefore it wouldn’t be as profitable to choose and offer both Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

I have gathered up some information about which brands have choices Coca Cola, and which brands have chosen Pepsi as their distributed drink in their franchise.

These are only the most famous brands but in reality, it is the tip of the iceberg. The list goes on by far, especially on the side of the coke. Coca-Cola has by far more restaurants in an agreement with them than Pepsi.

Now, let’s dive more into the subject and see what additional aspects lie deeper.

Did Coca Cola or Pepsi come first

I have once wondered the same question and it was as I suspected. Coca-Cola was founded before Pepsi but only barely. Let’s take a closer look at both of them!

Coca Cola

Coca-Cola was introduced to the world on May 8, 1886, by John Pemberton. Coca-Cola only sold 9 drinks per day in its first year so it has grown by… Well, you do the math!

Pepsi

Not long after Coca-Cola had come into existence, Pepsi was founded by Caleb Bradham in 1893. The name of Pepsi was first introduced as ”Brad’s Drink”.

Who sells more Coke or Pepsi

The competition between Coca-Cola and Pepsi is fierce, and this is probably recognized by all! Both of the companies’ revenues are absolutely astronomical but the clear winner here by revenue is PepsiCo.

Coke (2018)Pepsi (2018)
Total Brand Value: 84.02 billionTotal Brand Value: 11 billion
Total Net Revenue: 35.4 billionTotal Net Revenue: 67.1 billion
Sources: Coca Cola | Sources Pepsi

However, even when Pepsi company is bringing in more net revenue than Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola the soda is still winning. This is because both of these companies own a huge amount of other brands and distribute other products as well, which results in more overall profit for Pepsi, but more soda servings sold by Coke.

What is the number 1 selling soda

You guessed it, Coca-Cola is by far the most selling soda in the world. In fact, according to Coca-Cola, they are selling 10,000 servings of Coke each SECOND if you can believe that. That number is just unbelievably good and it is no wonder that Coca-Cola is recognized in every part of the world.

Conclusion

We all recognize Coca-Cola and Pepsi by far away and some people say that there is no difference at all between them, and others say that the difference is clear. Everybody has their opinion and my own is that there certainly is a difference in there.

The Cola Wars will continue for the future and who knows whether there will be an ending to it or will it go forward indefinitely.

Here You’ll Find My Favorite Kitchen Equipment.

Thanks for reading this article! I hope that it brought you real value that you can benefit from in your personal life! Here is my top kitchen equipment that I seriously couldn’t live without, and I think they could ease your life as well as they do mine.

  • Knife set: As a chef, I can’t stand dull, poor-quality knives without any design. My absolute favorite kitchen knife set is the Gangshan 3-Piece Knife Set. It comes with a handcrafted 8″ chef’s knife and a 3.5″ paring knife. What I love even more than these flawless knives is the walnut knife block which is incredible and unique.
  • Skillet: In addition to knives and my unwillingness to bargain with its quality is the cookware. My favorite skillet is Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Skillet. This particular skillet is 9″ in size, it is heavy, it gets very hot, which is what is required to get a good sear, and it is just beautiful, as are all Le Creuset products. Le Creuset doesn’t need an introduction as a brand, as it is one of the world’s rated brands.
  • Food processor: I remember when I hadn’t a food processor at home. It wasn’t easy! But now, when I use my Ninja BN601 Food Processor, I can make anything super fast, which saves me many hours per week. This food processor has 1000 watts of power and four options, including chopping, slicing, dough, and purees. I also like the middle-sized 9cup (2.1l) bowl as it is big enough yet not too big to look unfitting in my kitchen.
  • Tweezers: Dalstrong Professional Cooking Tweezers are like tongs but much more elegant, thin, and easy to use. They are great for virtually anything, but flipping, turning, and grabbing with them is easy and makes cooking much more fun! These Dalstrgon tongs are titanium coated and very durable. Also, I like the black color instead of the everyday steel.
